 Caramelised Onion Jam

 

  • add to any burger such as beef, vegetable, lamb or lentil
  • spread onto pizza base, add further toppings or just some mozzarella & parmesan
  • wonderful condiments with steak or bangers & mash
  • make a great cheese toastie or melt with sourdough bread and cheddar cheese
  • a must-have with bacon & egg rolls
  • jazz up soup or slow-cooked stews by adding a spoonful or two (or half a jar) during the cooking process
  • add to meat or vegie stir-fries

 

 

Things to do with……

 

Lemon Butter

Passion Butter

  • serve hot pancakes with lemon or passion butter, top with a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream or yoghurt and dust with icing sugar       
  • delicious on hot scones with fresh whipped cream
  • dollop some on a bowl of ice-cream
  • add some whipped cream to meringues, top with some fresh berries and drizzle passion butter over to make instant mini pavlovas
  • spread onto sponge or butter cakes
  • spread lavishly onto fresh crusty bread or hot toast
  • store in fridge and when no-one is looking, eat out of the jar

 

Sour Cherry Jam

  • warm a few tablespoons of jam  in a cup in the microwave and serve on  hot pancakes with ice cream or yoghurt
  • delicious on hot scones with fresh whipped cream, hot toast and crumpets
  • spread onto chocolate or butter cakes
  • savoury recipe….pork turkey or ham with sour cherry sauce. In a pan add half a cup of red wine and 2 tablespoons of sour cherry jam. Cook over medium heat  for 5 minutes until thickened. Spoon over meat. Sooo good.

Caramelised Onion & Goat Cheese Tarts


Buy some readymade tart shells or make your own.
Make up an egg mix of one egg to one tablespoon of cream and season with a little salt and pepper if desired. (Increase eggs and cream depending on the quantity of tarts.) Pour egg mix into a jug. Put a teaspoon of any caramelised jam (use larger amount if making larger tarts) into tart shell. Scatter fresh goat curd over the jam. Pour egg mix into tart shells to just below the top. Bake in oven at 180º for about 10 minutes.

Lemon & Passion Butter


Cupcake filled with Lemon Butter & fresh cream


Cut the top off a cupcake and spoon in Lemon or Passion Butter and a dollop of whipped fresh cream
